Air Asia offered 50,000 free seats for all domestic flights.

I managed to grab a couple tickets myself to fly to Kuala Lumpur, and was even tempted to get tickets to Kota Kinabalu, cos it's so darn cheap when it doesn't cost a single ringgit. You only need to pay the airport tax.

End Note: Again, I have bad track record flying with AirAsia, they may boast their high percentage (improved) performance in their website, but it reflects otherwise with my personal experience. I hope they don't disappoint me again.

I was digging in my old archives in my PC, and I found these. These were taken back in year on 1st January 2007, when we were on our way back from Palm Beach Resort, Semantan.

It was drizzling, and the weather was really cool back then. It didn't feel like typical Malaysian weather back then, instead, it was nice and cool.

Doubt casted on me when I stumbled upon this while surfing for cheaper air ticket in their official website.




If you can't spot the error, I'll just retype it here (without alteration).

Now, it doesn't make any logic when we make the booking after the travel period. It doesn't make any sense when the offer is for a past travel period. We're now in October 2007, and we're booking for travel period of January 2007? Advance booking required? How can we fly? Time machine?

Now, I'm sure it's just a typo mistake by the airline's staff. I hope they get it corrected soon. :) Since I have spotted this mistake, Mr.CEO - Mr. Tony Fernandes, can I get a bargain flight over to KL this year end? I plan to fly over to KL for 2008 countdown. :-D

With all the respect to Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor and Faiz Khaleed, I think they're making too much of hoo-hah on the First Malaysian into Space.

I never give that much of a thought actually. To me, this is not the first time my country tries to achieve something major. There's the tallest twin tower in the world which is of much pride I agree but there are numerous shoddy ones that never made it pass launching and wasted billions of ringgits if all of their expenses are to be added up.

I missed the telecast on the space launch, I didn't follow on the progress. So, how is he now?

Pikom PC Fair @ KL Convention Center 2007

Early last month, I was in KL for a short holiday trip myself. Coincidentally, Pikom PC Fair KL was also held around that time.

After being back in Kuching since October 2006, I seriously miss the KL edition after seeing what they have in Kuching. We should have at least have better facilities to organize such event back here. Seriously, we turn a parking lot into an exhibition hall?

Since I arrived late night on Friday (actual time of arrival was just moments before the clock hit 12), I had no choice but to drop by on the following day. (My flight was retimed by our white-red airlines)

On Saturday, I set off to KLCC station after 10pm, and I got there way too early. The convention halls are not opened until 11am. Even so, they have already got crowds at that hour.

At the end of the tunnel, you'll have to go through the carpark area, which leads to the Convention hall.

I just touched down in Kuching International Airport just after 3pm. It's scorching hot today. Headache.

Weekend was great, but hectic. Believe it or not, I have filled up my CF with approximately 1084 photos all together!

And, we're certainly thinking of Rainforest World Music Festival, held in Sarawak Cultural Village, Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.

Rainforest World Music Festival is a three-day-world class event. On the day time, you have music workshop conducted, and when night falls, you will have concert performances.

I have never been to any of the past editions, but words I have heard from, are mostly praises and positive feedback.

I can't wait to shoot the event. If only I can get a 'Media Access Pass', or pass with similar credentials then I can roam freely and shoot better photos. :) I wish.

during last weekend...

I needed a break, so I took a day off from work on Friday.

Weekend started earlier for me last week, and I became a tourist for a day or two in Kuching. It was fun rediscovering my own homeland after so many years. After all, I am almost a stranger to my own homeland after spending most of my past 6-7 years away from Kuching.

Joining together with friends from Singapore, most of them were making their first visit to the capital of Sarawak, we visited to several attraction spots here.

hello from bintulu

A short update from Bintulu.

I'm on yet another work-related trip to Bintulu. I'm really glad that my work is finished way earlier than usual. Else, I wouldn't even have time to enjoy the free wi-fi here in the hotel.

I'm currently sitting at the Luconia Bay at ParkCity Everly Hotel, Bintulu. I find this hotel a splendid place to stay, be it for leisure or for business trip.

It's a four-star hotel, located by just the seaside of Bintulu. There is construction project for the raise of their WaterFront project going on, so you can see some dirty work being done. Nevertheless, after the construction, I can visualized the beauty of the sunset you have at your window in your room.

road to countryside

On the eve of 2007, I tagged along two pairs of couples to a trip to Palm Beach at Sematan. Along the journey, we only get to discover how beautiful our homeland can be. It made me treasure nature even more. I love the greens we have.



The following photos are taken when my friend wanted to stop over to get some rambutan. These girls are of the local ethnics. I'm playing around with both color and B&W versions.



When it started, it was just this girl alone, with her baskets and leaf.



It was just leaf.. and the small baskets in front of her.. until..



.. another girl came up running towards her, and sat besides her.



She wants the attention too. Apparently, not camera-shy like Pink Cotton. Potential to lay their faces in front of camera in future. =)

After the rambutan, we went off to our destination - Palm Beach Resort, Sematan. (We were off towards a place where we didn't get any signal on our mobiles.)
