Nicole Camille Richie is an American celebrity,Hollywood actress, author, and an aspiring singer. The adopted daughter of Lionel Richie, she is known for her role in the reality show The Simple Life and her turbulent personal life.
Nicole Camille Escovedo was born on September 21, 1981 in Berkeley, California. She is reportedly the biological daughter of Afro-Latin American percussionist Pete Escovedo and a woman identified only as a backstage assistant on Lionel Richie's 1980 world tour.Escovedo was a member of Richie's band.She was legally adopted by the Richies when she was nine.On July 31, 2007, Richie confirmed that she and boyfriend Joel Madden were expecting a child, due in early January 2008. She gave birth to daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden on 11-01-2008.

Having found quite the niche for herself in the world of fashion, Nicole Richie has teamed with the Gilt Groupe for a not-to-be-missed sale event.
Set to kick off on Thursday (February 3) at 12PM ET, the former "Simple Life" star's House of Harlow 1960 and Winter Kate spring collections will be offered up to interested buyers until midnight on Sunday (February 6).
Talking about the team-up, Miss Richie said, “The House of Harlow girl is an educated woman, a multitasker and someone who isn’t afraid to take chances and wants to have fun with fashion. This season I took inspiration from the way my mother used to dress, mixed with photographs of French gypsies, [particularly] the way they layer and mix and match everything.”
Also excited, Gilt founder Alexandra Wilkis Wilson added, “Gilt has over 3 million visitors. We’re confident that within our base we’ll have a core customer who will appreciate the aesthetic. We’ve thrown around Nicole Richie’s name and the names of her brands. We’re very close to our members and get their feedback. We feel very good about this.”

Stepping out for some fresh air, Nicole Richie was spotted having lunch in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon (January 27).
The “Simple Life” mommy looked like she was ready for spring with her floral print dress and sunglasses.
Nicole recently revealed that she’s making eyewear a big part of her new collection, given that she loves to utilize different shades in her own repertoire.
"We are introducing sunglass this season. Sunglasses play a huge role in my life simply because I don't wear make-up. Over time I've grown to like elaborate frames and fun lenses and it was important to me to bring this out for my collection."

Kim Kardashian was looking good as she stopped to fill up her car this afternoon. I’m still concerned about the lip thing, though. She’s such a gorgeous girl, why does she feel the need to mess with Botox? Ugh.
Nicole Richie was spotted leaving the gym in Studio City this morning. I didn’t realize she was even in her workout gear until I looked at the full length shots! LOL! She looks so dressed up and then you see the exercise leggings and tennis shoes – too funny.

I guess those reports that Nicole Richie was hitting the gym several times a week to prepare for her wedding were false. Here she is – happily married – heading into her private facility.
The holidays are upon us and if you are anything like me, you’ve over-indulged a bit. Perhaps, Nicole is staying on top of it all. Smart girl! The reality star admitted last week that the holidays are one of her favorite times of the year. It’s best to enjoy them guilt free!!
