Dior Won't Announce New Designer Until Fall.
Is it going to be Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci or Lanvin's Alber Elbaz? Sorry guys, we'll have to wait a while to find out which of our favorite designers is taking the reins at Christian Dior. Despite weeks of speculation and rumors since the John Galliano debacle, Dior has decided to keep mum on the subject of its next designer until fall.
There are several reasons for this—and no, they're not doing it just to keep us guessing. First, Galliano is still technically employed by Dior. The company must legally dissolve his contract before proceeding. Second, Dior doesn't want the announcement to overshadow the sales and promotions of the current season.
So, we must hold our horses and wait for the musical chairs extravaganza this fall. It's sure to be an exciting show!
